Jefferson Energy has created a world class intermodal export and import distribution hub for ethanol with unmatched logistical optionality, service, and reliability. The facility discharges ethanol unit trains of up to 116 railcars in under 24 hours, with additional rail storage capacity to hold two full ethanol unit trains at any one time. Three storage tanks are used for various export grades and are available either on a dedicated or commingled basis. One additional storage tank is used for domestic (ASTM) ethanol and has the capability to move to other specifications as necessary. Dedicated lines for denatured and undenatured ethanol are maintained to ensure petroleum free undenatured ethanol and marine loading rates of 10,000 barrels per hour to ship and 5,000 barrels per hour to barge are routinely achieved. The terminal has a Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP) permit from the Alcohol & Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) to handle fuel grade undenatured ethanol.
