Jefferson Energy Companies is an innovative midstream energy company headquartered in Houston, Texas, with transportation, terminal and storage assets located at the Port of Beaumont in Beaumont, Texas. The terminal sits on a 250-acre site on the east bank of the Neches River Ship Channel at the confluence of three Class 1 rail carriers. The Terminal is designed to deliver maximum flexibility to users, with crude by rail capability of 2,100,000 barrels per day ranging from the lightest condensate to pure bitumen. The Terminal Marine capabilities include a Ship Dock and dedicated Inland Barge Dock which connect the Terminal to domestic and foreign marine destinations. The terminal’s service has expanded ethanol, heavy refinery feedstocks and rail loading of refined products for export to Mexico and domestic distribution.
The Boiler Operator will operate three industrial boilers to produce steam for Jefferson Energy Terminal’s Heat-assisted rail car unloading system.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Operating automatically-fired boilers to generate steam that supplies heat for terminal processes.
Ensures boilers operate within safe operating limits at all times
Observes pressure, temperature and draft meters on the panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems and feed water regulators
Turns valves and adjusts controls to set specified fuel feed, openings, water levels and steam pressure of boiler
Tests the boiler feed water and balances it with chemicals as needed
Performs preventative maintenance and works to protect boiler from corrosion or other potential damage
Monitors steam traps to ensure they are working properly and recommends repair or replacement as needed
Other related duties as assigned
Maintain vehicles for safe operation. Any defects or maintenance, notify Maintenance Manager
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Associates degree in Process Technology or related field. Experience or related education may be substituted. Additionally, two years related experience
Basic math knowledge and mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate well with others
Ability to train other personnel on boiler operations
Knowledge of process equipment and terminal operations is preferred
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required in addition to varying shifts
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen in addition to ability to obtain a TWIC card is required.

Ability to withstand varying weather conditions including summer heat in FRC
Bending, stooping and standing for long periods of time
12 hours rotating shift (Dupont Schedule)
